Win 11 for Dummies from Amazon
Can somebody recommend some Win11 tutorials for technophobic seniors?
Could somebody please recommend some videos that would be good for a couple of seniors that are not computer literate?
I've asked this before for Windows Vista and Windows 7, but not for Windows 11.
I need something similar to "Discover Windows 98" or "Tour Windows XP" that goes over the basics of using the taskbar, the Star Menu, and switching between open windows/programs.
A link to some good training websites would help too. Ones that don't assume you're familiar with Windows 7/8/10, etc.
I keep trying to explain, but they just get mad and say "Stop flooding me with all this technical information and just tell me how to get to the file, I don't want a lecture on using a computer right now, I just want to get this task done."
Then when they get the task done they say "I'm too frustrated right now, it isn't a good time for a tutorial."
My time is limited, so I'd like to just give them a link to some training videos and if they then say they haven't watched them then I can't find the time to help them anymore.
Sorry, just frustrated at seniors who don't want to learn.
I've looked, but there are tons of them but some seem to assume you are familiar with older versions of Windows and I don't want to spend hours watching training videos hoping to find something appropriate for beginners and was hoping somebody on these boards already knew of a few.
Websites and books are easier as I can flip through and skim, but videos have to be done more linearly. Even skimming isn't easy as you have to stop and listen to them to see if it's assuming knowledge or teaching from scratch, and it's harder to get a feel what the video covers and does not.

2023-02-08T08:42:16+00:00 Hi again.
The majority of the Videos available online are similar to the ones I've already shared above. However, there are articles with pictures that can be reviewed for the Introduction to Windows 11 like this one.

I agree that video tutorials should be still available for beginners on certain platforms like Windows, Mac, etc. This will help first-time users a lot.
You can also use this other platform to post queries about Windows since IT professionals are present here. Here is Microsoft Learn.

Don't fret since in case something happens while you are using Windows 11, you can ask here anytime, and rest assured that a knowledgeable member is ready to help you.
Regards.

Tried that with the Win7 version a decade ago for one of the senior relatives, it went unread.
I found "Windows 7 For Dummies for Seniors" at a library book sale shortly after Windows 8 came out. Only paid $1 for it so I figured it was worth a short.
Hence hoping for the video links instead. If they are only an hour or two total, maybe I can convince them to get used instead of a whole book.
