I normally use Outlook, and I also have a Google email account that I seldom use. The application I am trying to use asks me to select either Google or Yahoo, so I select Google (there is no option to select Outlook). I guess the application is doing this for security.
When I select Google for the application, this brings up the Google login in screen. After I enter my log in information, a window pops up saying they (Google) will text me a verification code to a contact phone number (which I provided when I created the Google account).
When I first set up the Google account, I mistakenly put the phone number of my land line. I just realized they wanted a cell phone number, so I changed it to that number. Now when I login from the application, Google puts up a screen saying a text for a verification code will be sent to the number of the land line, rather than the cell phone number, even though I changed that number to the number of my cell phone.
When I look at my Google Personal Information, the phone number shows the cell phone number that I had changed it to. So when I get to the screen where is says a text message with a verification code will be sent, why does Google still want to send the text message to the land line phone number, rather than the cell phone number ?
I apologize if this is not the correct place to post this question. I have not been able to find a good way to connect with Google.
