Hello, I tried opening roblox from a browser but it keeps trying to open using Roblox-player's app, but I prefer MS Roblox. I can't join VIP servers because of this.
MS Roblox don't pop out when I'm trying to choose what to open roblox-player link with. I uninstalled Roblox player's app but it still won't load.

The first step still doesn't work, after clicking on a roblox experience on browser I get this if I dont have Roblox Player installed.ImageI already tried the other 2 steps.

I came to the conclusion that it's probably a problem on Roblox's site for not allowing the MS app to open links from roblox because they made a different file type for each of themImage
and you can only change the ROBLOX one to MS Roblox and Roblox Player, the ROBLOX-PLAYER one can only use the Roblox Player version.

    Hi MGTro,

I am Mario and I am a independent advisor, and I would like to help you.

You can try changing the default program for opening these links. Here's how:

1- Open the Settings app in Windows 10 by pressing the Windows key + I.

2- Click on "Apps" and then select "Default apps" from the left-hand side menu.

3- Scroll down until you see the "Choose default apps by protocol" section and click on it.

4- Look for the "roblox-player" protocol and click on the app that is currently set as the default.

5- Select "Microsoft Store" from the list of available apps and set it as the default app for the "roblox-player" protocol.

Here's how to do it in Google Chrome:

1- Open Google Chrome and click on the three dots in the top right corner of the window.

2- Select "Settings" from the drop-down menu.

3- Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on "Advanced" to expand the settings.

4- Scroll down to the "Reset and clean up" section and click on "Restore settings to their original defaults."

5- Click on the "Reset settings" button to confirm.

Hope this can help you solving the issue.

Is there anything else I can help you with?

    Best regards,

    Mário

I'm using windows 11 and I found "Choose default by link type" instead of "Choose default apps by protocol", which I think that it's the same thing.

After pressing the "Microsoft Store" option this pops up

I also restored chrome to its original default but nothing changed related to Roblox

It seems like your system is still associating the Roblox player's app with the links instead of the Microsoft Roblox app. Here are a few things you can try to resolve the issue:

1- Reset the default app settings: Go to Windows Settings > Apps > Default apps > Reset to default. This will reset the default app settings for all file types and protocols, including Roblox links. After doing this, try opening the Roblox link again and see if it opens with the Microsoft Roblox app.

2- Set the default app for Roblox links: Go to Windows Settings > Apps > Default apps > Choose default apps by protocol. Look for "Roblox-player" in the list and click on it. Then select "Microsoft Roblox" as the default app for this protocol.

3- Uninstall both apps and reinstall Microsoft Roblox: Uninstall both the Roblox player's app and the Microsoft Roblox app. Then download and reinstall the Microsoft Roblox app from the Microsoft Store. After doing this, try opening the Roblox link again and see if it opens with the Microsoft Roblox app.

Hope this can help you solving the issue.

I uninstalled both the Roblox Player app and the MS Roblox app and then cleared Chrome's cookies but it still doesn't work unfortunately. I also tried downloading the app from Xbox PC app which should be the same version as MS in hope that it will work but it doesn't.
