on Potentially Broken Extended Storage ?

I started experiencing problems with my extended storage for my ps4 a couple of days ago. I first thought that the ps4 was the problem, but it wasn´t. So I switched the USB cable for a new one and tried plugging it into my computer. Since the computer couldn´t see the drive I had to format it to exFat, which only worked with the new cable. This made the pc and the ps4 able to see the extended storage drive. The extended storage however starts lagging my computer and freezes some programs, but only when it is plugged in. I am also unable to run CHKDSK or move anything to the disk since it freezes both processes. Can I do anything about this? Any help is appreciated.

I have a Seagate Game Drive for PS4 1.8TB

    Hi Ludde_Pudde,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

I think there is a physical problem with that drive.

If you connect that drive to your PC, then right click your Start Button and open Disk Management, does Disk Management open no problem or does it freeze or produce an error?

Are you not able to format that drive on your PS4, do you get an error?

    Hi Ludde_Pudde,

Thank you for that information, that problem when you try to open Disk Management indicates that drive has failed, it will not be repairable, I am sorry.

Ok thank you Dave, so when I open Disk Management with the drive connected it only shows a white screen and it says "connecting to Virtual Disk Service". I am at this screen unable to do anything unless I disconnect the drive and the program works as normal. I am also unable to format the drive on my PS4 as I get the message "the connection to the USB storage device has been lost. (CE-37856-9)".
