Change windows 11 password - computer sign in - not account password

Hi all, I want to change the password to sign in to my windows 11 PC. When I go into security, in the windows settings, it only lets me change my microsoft account password. I don't use my microsoft account password to log in.

How do I change the admin password on windows 11? The password I use when I first sing in to my computer after start up; not the one I use to log in to my microsoft account. This option seems to be removed, moved or hidden, and it used to be straight forward.

My second computer, still on windows 10, doesn't have this problem I changed its password without issue last week.

Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello there, this is Emily.

    Hold down Windows key and R key to launch the run box, type in netplwiz and hit enter.

    You should see all of your Windows users there. If your user is already linked to your Microsoft account, you can't reset the password. You have to reset online via https://account.microsoft.com for your MS account's intead.

    If it is a local user, then you will see the Reset Password option

    The solution is to choose the PIN option, select Change PIN, then check the box labeled "Include letters and symbols".

    Hi Emily

    I forgot the PSW (as administrator) for windows 11 sign in.
    I'm working with a secondary account without the privileges of Admin.

    I have a MS Account subscription.
    Which way you suggest to get WIN 11 sign in PSW?
