Hi

I have ran Latency Mon as I am getting issues when using using my Traktor Kontrol s3 DJ controller causing real time audio play back issues and the above driver is reporting Highest execution of over 5.83 which appears to be causing the audio issues - have you any advice on what I can do to improve this?

Windows/drivers/BIOS are all up to date

CONCLUSION

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Your system appears to be having trouble handling real-time audio and other tasks. You are likely to experience buffer underruns

appearing as drop outs, clicks or pops. One or more DPC routines that belong to a driver running in your system appear to be executing

for too long. One problem may be related to power management, disable CPU throttling settings in Control Panel and BIOS setup. Check for

BIOS updates.

LatencyMon has been analyzing your system for 0:09:40 (h:mm:ss) on all processors.

MEASURED INTERRUPT TO USER PROCESS LATENCIES

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The interrupt to process latency reflects the measured interval that a usermode process needed to respond to a hardware request from the

moment the interrupt service routine started execution. This includes the scheduling and execution of a DPC routine, the signaling of an

event and the waking up of a usermode thread from an idle wait state in response to that event.

Highest measured interrupt to process latency (µs): 418.20

Average measured interrupt to process latency (µs): 18.544421

Highest measured interrupt to DPC latency (µs): 399.30

Average measured interrupt to DPC latency (µs): 5.148406

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________

REPORTED ISRs

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Interrupt service routines are routines installed by the OS and device drivers that execute in response to a hardware interrupt signal.

Highest ISR routine execution time (µs): 72.415941

Driver with highest ISR routine execution time: Wdf01000.sys - Kernel Mode Driver Framework Runtime, Microsoft Corporation

Highest reported total ISR routine time (%): 0.008239

Driver with highest ISR total time: Wdf01000.sys - Kernel Mode Driver Framework Runtime, Microsoft Corporation

REPORTED DPCs

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________

DPC routines are part of the interrupt servicing dispatch mechanism and disable the possibility for a process to utilize the CPU while it

is interrupted until the DPC has finished execution.

Highest DPC routine execution time (µs): 5830.930749

Driver with highest DPC routine execution time: Wdf01000.sys - Kernel Mode Driver Framework Runtime, Microsoft Corporation

DPC count (execution time >=4000 µs): 1

REPORTED HARD PAGEFAULTS

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Hard pagefaults are events that get triggered by making use of virtual memory that is not resident in RAM but backed by a memory mapped

file on disk. The process of resolving the hard pagefault requires reading in the memory from disk while the process is interrupted and

blocked from execution.

NOTE: some processes were hit by hard pagefaults. If these were programs producing audio, they are likely to interrupt the audio stream

resulting in dropouts, clicks and pops. Check the Processes tab to see which programs were hit.

Process with highest pagefault count: msmpeng.exe

Total number of hard pagefaults 49848

Hard pagefault count of hardest hit process: 23033

Number of processes hit: 76

Hi, I had the same latency problem with the Wdf01000.sys driver and I'll tell you what fixed it (at least for me):

Update the graphics card drivers and activate and deactivate the network card (Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller) in the device manager. This has solved the problem completely in my case.
Disable the network card and pass LatencyMon to see what happens. If latency returns when you turn it on, you can leave it off while using your computer for audio.

I found this solution in the audio optimization guide on the Native Instruments website. Check it out.

    Good luck.

Hi Chandy your solution did not resolve my issue.

The WDF01000.sys that is causing my DPC latency issue is the one that runs from the System32/Drivers directory.

It is basically making my brand new i9 12900K CPU WIn 11 machine useless for the purpose purchased which is as a DAW.

Any suggestion as how to fix this.

    Hello Matt Spragg

Welcome to Microsoft Community and hope you are doing great.

Wdf01000.sys is a component of Windows Driver Framework, which will be used by other component of Windows at the same time, so I think it would probably be a compatibility issue, but we can still try a system fix in case wdf01000.sys is corrupted:

Press the Start key and enter CMD, right-click on the command prompt and select Run as administrator, enter the following commands in sequence and press Enter:

    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-image /RestoreHealth

    sfc /scannow

If the issue persist after this system fix, I think it will be better to contact the manufacture to see if they have any other similar issue with the same module, and maybe a solution at the same time.

At the same time, we noticed that other users reported similar issues. However, since LatencyMon detected this issue, we recommend that you open the Feedback Hub with the problem computer and alert the development team as soon as possible, then send the feedback link so we can help you create an upvote.

To open the Feedback Hub, press the Windows logo key + F on your keyboard simultaneously.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

Not even kidding ... i bought a couple external and internal soundcards.

Because i didn´t know what is causing the problem.

But i think it´s funny. We have 2023, with 5Ghz+ CPU´s and crazy hardware.

But still, we can´t handle sound.

    Super confusing ... :-D

I got the problem for over 2 years now, i try to fix it from time to time and test alot of solutions that people post.

But nothing has helped at all.

Not even buying a new soundcard.
