Latest Microsoft Update completely ruined my computer

The latest update March 14, 2023—KB5023696 (OS Builds 19042.2728, 19044.2728, and 19045.2728) - Microsoft Support

completely ruined my software.

Here are the problems I ran into :

First, my Firefox browser just stopped being able to start. I would restart it, and it would freeze seconds after starting. Safe-mode didn't help, resetting didn't help.

My AV freezes mid-scan, and refuses to continue scanning.

A driver installation froze mid-installation, and refused to continue installing.

Every time I try to turn off my computer, it would refuse to shut down, until I force closed 2 "Windows Task Host" processes.

I had to reset my Windows installation, twice, to finally figure out it was the update that was creating the problem.

Please fix this as soon as possible. I have paused updates for 7 days.

After resetting my Windows installation the first time, I installed multiple software, including the Antivirus, until I installed the update and it created the same issue.

After I had my doubts, I reset it again, and installed nothing but Firefox and the update. Firefox still froze.

I couldn’t even uninstall the update, it fails to do that. I had to reset again, and pause the updates.

What logs do you want me to share? I still have not installed the latest update on my computer, and I do not want to install it again because it breaks so many things. And I can't even uninstall it or roll back to the previous system restore point before the update.

    Hi,

I'm Sumit, here to answer your query at the Microsoft Community.

Is it possible to use Windows security in the place of your existing software temporarily and try to repro issues?

Sometimes AVs are not compatible with the updates.
