How to stop One Drive from synching specific folder on my desktop?

It's as the title says. I have a bunch of folders on my desktop, and I don't want some of them to sync across all my devices.

Which is I don't want to upload specific folders to the cloud, I just want to leave these folders on that specific device.

How would I achieve that?

I read through 3 similar questions and found no solution.

Please help.

Doing so actually deletes folder from a desktop and leaves it on one drive only. I've just deselected one of my folders and it disappeared from the desktop.

I want to do the opposite. Delete a folder from one drive but leave it on a desktop.

    How do I do that?

Hello, I'm Felipe and I'm an independent Community Advisor, and I'll do my best to help you.

To stop OneDrive from syncing specific folders on your desktop, you can follow these steps:

Right-click the OneDrive icon in the system tray (bottom right corner of the screen) and select "Settings".

In the "Account" tab, click on "Choose folders".

Uncheck the box next to the folder(s) you don't want to sync to OneDrive.

Click "OK" to save the changes.

Once you've completed these steps, the folder(s) you deselected will no longer sync to OneDrive, but will remain on the device where they are stored.

It's worth noting that if you want to remove a folder from OneDrive altogether, you can right-click the folder in the OneDrive folder on your computer and select "Delete". This will remove the folder from OneDrive and delete it from your computer. However, be careful when deleting folders as this action is permanent and cannot be undone.
