Can I unplug an m.2 SSD and plug it back in without losing anything?

Sorry if my question is phrased oddly but to explain some, I have an SB-ROCKET-NVME4-1TB running as my C drive currently and have been using it for a while now but I'm doing some upgrades and I realized I didn't put a heatsink on when I was installing it. So with PC off obviously, if I unplug it, install the heatsink and slap it back in will everything be fine or am I worried for nothing, thanks for any info!

    Hi TSchnee,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Rest assured, an M.2 SSD is non-volatile memory, it does not need to be continually powered, so you will not loose any date if you disconnect the M.2 SSD while performing that work, you do not need to worry about that.
