What is the highest rank in Microsoft Freecell.

I'm on level 11292 and Diamond Grand Master 2159 and still going.

I've reached Diamond grandmaster 577. Soldiering on the belief of Platimun

That is great! I am also doing it for Brain exercise, suffered a small stroke, but mostly for fun. It is unbelievable to see how big the "FreeCell Community" is out there.

I've reached Diamond Grandmaster 31 and was very disappointed when it went to 21 and now it went to 31 without a new title! Silly of me but it is an incentive to reach a new status and now it appears it will just keep adding numbers to Diamond Grandmaster! I should get a life!!!!

Diamond Grandmaster 170 is way up there compared to others, in fact it's the highest I've heard of. Well done! I'm only DG 103

Most likely some players are already in level 900+ and tier/rank Gold Grandmaster 9 is the highest tier/rank but it keeps updating whenever a certain player reached that cap level.

If I could just explain something. We speak about the "Head Boy Syndrome". Someone who always comment. Believe me, I do not have that. I just notice that there were several threads in the past - on which many of you have commented/added information, dating back to 2019.

However, after a certain while of inactivity, Microsoft closes the thread.

So please, I am not just commenting on everything, I am trying to keep the thread alive.

If you play on expert with 2000 points, you need 3 to 4 minutes to complete a level. So playin for an hour you approximately gain 15 levels.

I am Diamond Grandmaster 46, level 729. The previous comment says 155. Do you mean level 155 or Diamond Grandmaster 155? What is the Grandmaster number (not level) called?

According to one website the freecell solitaire is solvable 99.9999 % of the time. I have reached some Dimond grandmaster title and over 500 some level. I think one plays the game for distraction from reality or as a nerve outlet. The more I have played it the more I realized that Microsoft could not come up with better titles, so it keeps adding more Dimond grandmaster 1,2,3... What is after Dimond, I wonder. A game exercising the brain is good without any titles.

I'm sitting at Diamond Grandmaster 1018 - Level 5585

I know GregorisPhiles usually play at Expert Level, so he ha a minimum of 64 000 games. The other two play at Medium and Hard Levels. That will of course influence their levels. I hope they reply.

Hi David, I too am a Diamond Grand Master 606, also at "Expert" Level 3,522. fastest time 58 seconds, longest 27 hours over four days. It was a near impossible one that I was determined to win. I have played 33,850 games and won 33,340 with a win level of 99%
All 10 of my losses came late at night when I was tired and pushed the wrong button trying to play too fast, maybe a glass of red wine was possibly involved in a couple of them. Most irritating.

Well, I salute you! That is my aim to keep my brain "fit", hopefully until I am 90! So I start my days with my "Brain exercise" in the mornings. (That was what my partners used to call it).

Just to "confuse" my brain a bit, I aim for a level in each of the games. Sometimes it is a little confusing to play TriPeaks followed by Pyramid and then Free Cell as with the same card, you do different things in each game. But as you said, it gives you fun, I always say it absolutely amuses me that somebody developed these games, that somebody discovered you have to add two cards to get 13, and in that way you will clear the deck.

I always wonder about our younger generation, are they able to solve these problems with their heads, or do they use technology?

But Tex, I believe you always played events as the name looks very familiar? I stopped playing events after my 3 minor strokes, can still finish a board, but my times are not at competition level.

Level 626 Diamond Grand Master 26. 99% success. Shortest time 2mins 23. I never give in now there is always an out.

To come to your question, I/We do not know, but I doubt it. There are players beyond Diamond Grandmaster 2000. I am zooming in, and we all are still Diamond Grandmasters.

As I have already responded to a question, I believe if you are only playing for Titles, you can stop. If you are playing for other reasons such as memory, or brain exercises, you can continue, just forget about the levels.

I see you are playing at Expert Level, that is great.

Remember, I am not working for Microsoft, so my guess is as good as the next.

How do you know what the levels of Free Cell solitaire are. I'm on level 3.137 (Diamond Grandmaster 328), but am about to give up as I believe there are no more levels to achieve.

yes I am currently a Diamond Grandmaster 27 level 632 at 3094 games without losing a single game.

And usually it is just one wrong move...

27+ hours WOW!! I hope I hope don't get that one. I have had easy games that took me hours & expert ones that took me no time at all. It's all in the way our minds work. What is easy for one person is hard for another, I think.

I believe there is one game that is unsolvable. The rest are. My personal worst record is 27 hours and 43 minutes. I later on started to write my moves down.

At least I found many ways how not to solve the game!

I agree and I often laugh at myself after that cup of coffee to see how obvious the solution is. I believe you get so "caught up" in a difficult game that you do not play your "normal" game!

Yes, Microsoft Freecell goes well above Diamond Grandmaster 20, however I am disappointed Microsoft has dropped the ball and got lazy in creating higher level names. When I got to Diamond Grandmaster 100, (level1000), I expected something better than Diamond Grandmaster 101, as this was a major milestone.

Yes you would think Level 1000 would rate something else. Even if it was just Double Diamond Grandmaster. Perhaps they should of started off with Ruby or something just Bronze Silver Gold Diamond.

I'm sure he meant Diamond Grandmaster 155. I just passed Diamond Grandmaster 100 and that's level 1000.

I play for fun and have no idea how this compares! I would be interested in any feedback

DG 167 Is way above me on DG 52 I only play the expert games & most weeks I just play enough to get my bonus points. 2. min 30sec is my fastest time & around 2 Hr 30 min is the worse. I just do is to exercise the mind

Just keep on playing and enjoying.

What (few) tips I've learned by doing so falls into three groups.

One is to look for potential sequences when scanning the initial deal. Don't be in a hurry - there's no time penalty. After finding a potential good one, seek if there is a better one. And never move a card unless you have located where it must eventually end up.

Second is to (a) try to keep three slots open - even if you have to stack runs on runs to create.. That gives you enormous capabilities to move cards around. Not always possible but the right mind set. Don't be afraid of large card stacks. With enough slots, they're easy to move around.

Third, when moving cards, look for stepping stones. By transferring a few cards to another ending card, you can often then move the remaining stack. Then go back and pick up what you've dropped off on the stepping stone.

Finally, keep looking. It sometimes takes a while to locate the next move.

I'm at a similar level = Grandmaster 170, Level 1345. I have no idea how this compares with others.

I do think some of the replies on this thread seem backwards with the Grandmaster numbers given being higher than the levels played. Maybe they're reversed? Otherwise they would take decades of play to reach.

I also play for fun - but with an added kick. Approaching the end of my ninth decade, I also play a few games each day just to see how quickly I'm figuring them out and how many moves in advance I can see without ending in a dead-end. I find it a useful way to see if anything "bad" has happened during the prior night. (grin) It usually takes around 4-6 minutes at the Hard level, but a really tough game pops up sometimes that can double or triple that.

Unfortunately, yes. I am at Level 3470 Diamond Grandmaster 595! I just enjoy the game

I think there's a helluva higher posts than my current level that have been posted with a much higher level player than my screen shot. That's great with me.

My prior record was some 25000 consecutive wins before a lightening strike wiped out with my prior computer. But I did have to back track to win some of them. So I'm making no claims about big wins. i don't solve them all instantly - sometimes I have to work at them.

I do this, frankly, to check on my mental status each morning game streak before I start. I've found that it takes many pre-playing out several levels of potential moves before I start making then. If I can still figure these out, and then execute them, my almost 88 year mind still seems to be working OK. That's why I play - not seeking any records. My desire is to check my mental health - not to compete. I have no doubt that there are a lot better players than I am. Great.

But I'm not chicken sh*t bad.

I'm now at Grandmaster 157. There's a number shown as 1284 - I think it's level.

I'm at Diamond Grandmaster 155 with no indications of another level so far.

I play at the Hard level so I don't get one of the Random "no solution" draws. And not at Expert because takes more time to solve. I usually take 4-6 minutes a deal - but occasionally run into a hard one that can take up to 15 minutes to figure out.

Juliet - You are wrong. Diamond Grandmaster is higher than Gold. I am at Diamond Grandmaster 42, level 706. Does anyone know how high Diamond Grandmaster goes, or if there are Grandmasters above Diamond? And how many levels are there?

Diamond Grandmaster is the newest and highest level available, they seem to introduce new grandmaster levels as people reach the highest, but for now, that is the top level achievable.
