Had this issue on a Win 11 HP laptop. Issue started after a Win 11 update. Mic had worked before the Win 11 update.

What worked for me was first turning OFF Audio Enhancements in the settings (Settings > System > Sound > All sound devices > select the device (mic) and turn OFF “Audio Enhancements).

Specifically on my HP laptop (and with Zoom), mine also had HP B&O app (Bang and Olufsen) installed on it that also influences microphone settings. I also had to turn off all microphone mic input enhancements to get my mic to work again specifically in Zoom. (Found this fix specifically for HP laptops on a Zoom forum).

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks for the response.

    I followed the steps above.

When I rebooted the computer, the driver had been reinstalled. I clicked on update driver and I then chose the option to look for drivers in Windows update and it indicated I was "up to date", so no driver was available to install.

I went back to test the Mic and I still have the issue that the volume I am recording is only 2% of total volume. So when I try to use the microphone for zoom or other purposes, no one can hear me.

    Hello Edvards,

    I am Jaspreet Singh.

Make sure your device has internet connectivity

right click on start button and click on device manager.

click on audio inputs and outputs

then right click on your microphone array.

    click on uninstall device

reboot your device and let the driver install again by opening device manager then right clicking on the device of which the driver was removed.

    Click on update driver.

Let the search complete and if it says the best driver is already installed choose the option to look for the driver in windows update.

When the windows update page opens click on check for updates and let the driver install from there.

Check if the mics work after this.
