i have unchecked the mute button and the speakers on my laptop work fine. all the research i have done lead to no answers to solve this problem, 1 link i did find talks about Media Feature Pack and gives directions on how to install this app. So i followed all the steps and then find that it is not installed on my laptop and there is no place where i can download it from. So if anyone has a way of solving my problem, i would be extremely grateful.

Thank you. You won't be able to install Media feature as that's for N variants only. There's something else causing the problem. It could be muted or very low volume under your Volume Mixer. Can you check that, please?

While your browser is opened, right-click on the Volume icon on the lower right > Select Open volume mixer. Please make sure the volume is all the way up and use the "Default" under Output.

Hi William! I hope you are well. My name is, Zadee. I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you. Sorry to hear about your experience. I'll try my best to help you today.

Is this specifically happening when you are on a browser? Does the sound work when you play something from your Window Media Player?
