64 bit driver for a Iomega Zip 250MB USB 2.0 device?

I recently bought a 'Iomega Zip 250MB USB 2.0' drive for my Windows 10 64 bit OS, problem is, I don't think Iomega still supports Zip 100/250 drives... with a 64 bit version driver for Windows 10... is this an Amazon return item? I have 14 other 250MB 'Disks' are they obsolete hardware too? oddly you can still get a 3.5" 1.44MB external FD (USB powered)

    Hi SeansWin7,

Sorry to hear that. It seems they already gave up on this technology and stopped developing it further. Most of the storage companies geared towards usb flash drives nowadays.

    Hi SeansWin7,

Good day! I’m Jhakesong and I'll try to help you today.

These Zip drives should still work as they connect through USB. When you plug in the drive, windows will automatically search for the best driver and install it for you. The same goes with your other 250mb disks, if they connect through USB then they should still work.

Let me know how it goes. Have a great day!

That seems to be the limit as far as drivers go, it quickly throws out a generic driver. so Windows recognizes it as a 'Zip 250MB' drive. but as far as interfacing with the device?, not so much. I put in a disk, and it tries to read it, with the heads zipping in and out, but as far as getting it to 'function' format, read, write... in DOS it even says 'Drive not ready'. BTW I'm using Windows10 64 bit CPU/OS so I don't think there's any driver support for my setup. I have my original install disc, but that only goes up to Win 2k. and a 32 bit CPU/OS. so to say in the least, it's incompatible, HW/SW can't seem to meet in a working order. So I guess if they have a still supported Windows OS, (Windows 10/11) 'Iomega' or whoever took over the ZipDisk franchise, stopped support for Zip Drives after Windows 2000 32 bit CPU's and OS. Oh well would have been nice to make use of my existing 14 Zip 250MB disks, but those too have joined the ranks of expired technology.
