I had a serious PC melt down I was in the inseider program and did the last update suddenly it had changed my entire PC look, feel and lost my apps!!!!! its as though I had a virus? I tried to do a system restore but that failed countless times as usual as all retores normally do when you need them most! that is the same in every single windows version MS created and never finnished!, what a shock!! any way not only did it fail miserably all attempts at retsoring it also failed my back image. that was the last straw for me.

after countless tries and afew BSODs I managed to get back in to trouble shooting screen and uninstall some updates and my PC returned to normal. so first thing I trtied was to get the hell out of insider program but it says I'm not in it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've had enough of MS now I just want my standard windows pro version back and never want to see insider **** again. how do I make sure my PC is no longer conneted in any way to the insider programe and is this part of insider progarm (Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22638.1000.0) as it is showing in my Windows specs as well as the following

my build is 22621.963

Version 22H2

Windows 11 Pro

should I remove the Windows Feature Experience Pack or is that part of standard windows update now!!! I do not want to be a ginypig any more so if its testing **** let me know please so I can get rid of it I need to make sure My PC is no longer conected to the program in any way.

when I go to settings / windows update/ windows insider proramme. its as though I am not joined I see blue button Get started!

the strange part is when I click "Leave the insider programme" and use my MS chosen email it says, This email address is not registered as a Windows Insider It certainly was registered!!!!!!!!!! any way if any one could help confirm I'm out of it and that the Feature Experience Pack is ok to stay or get rid of and I'm on the right version for normal windows that would really be helpfull.

thanks to any one ath can help here. I would be just glad to get away from MS program its been a nightmare and yes my system meets all requirements to run windows 11 and has had no issues running it normally!!!!

    >my build is 22621.963

This build is older than current public, stable build which is 22621.1344.

You can make sure that your device is out of getting previews and stay in stable version by deleting one key in registry.

    1. Open regedit (push Win key and type regedit).
    2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsSelfHost
    3. On left panel right click that key and delete it.
    4. Close regedit and restart
    5. Go to settings and check for updates to get latest public Cumulative Update.

Yer ok thanks for your help

I just wish microsoft would have made that perfectly clear as I have paid software that can not be reinstalled and I will now loose it and have to pay all over again.

I can not understand why I cant just reinstall over the top and keep settings and apps like we did with other windows thats so annoying and frustraghting. I won't be doing this again and not loving where windows is going think its time to look at linux theres a few look alike versions now. just really fed up being told how I must have hwindows with microsofts like it or lump it attitude. they suck

    again thanks for your help

Thank you very much Pauli I followed you advise and edited the reg and now I'm on build 22621.1344 though I had a small issue with update afterwards when checking but just troubleshooted the issue and it fix it now all caught up.

even if this works til they bring out a final version I'll get a bit more time on my software licence that I can't reuse.

Thanks again for yourhelp very much appreciated. have a good one :)

    Hi Karma,

My name is Igor, it's a pleasure for me to help others and I'll do all my best to help you.

Windows Feature Experience Pack is a part of Windows now.

Unfortunately, is is needed to reinstall regular Windows version from scratch after leaving the insider program or to leave it. Sorry if I disappoint you.

You may use and update insider version till the release of the same build as a regular (23H2) version and then exit insider program.
