How do I resolve Realtek Semiconductor Corp. - Extension - 6.0.9433.1 Install error - 0x80070103?

Hello, my laptop has attempted to download the latest Realtek Semiconductor Corp. - Extension - 6.0.9433.1 today for Windows 11. It appears to have installed this Realtek Semiconductor Corp driver four times and, not surprisingly, I now receive the Install error message - 0x80070103.

I have hidden this driver download via troubleshooting, but it still comes up with the above error message and indicates in the download history that it has been installed four times. My screen has also started to jump and flick. Last month (February) there were significant bugs and glitches occurring with the Windows 11 driver updates at the time, which, thankfully, were resolved by Microsoft. From what I can see online, this latest glitch with the Realtek Semiconductor Corp. - Extension - 6.0.9433.1 has impacted some others but have not yet seen a confirmed resolution. I would be most grateful if Microsoft can resolve this latest bug swiftly.

Thank you.

The error code 0x80070103 typically indicates that a driver update is being offered by Windows Update, but it's either already installed or not applicable to your system.

To resolve this issue, you can try the following steps:

    1. Check for any pending Windows updates: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, and click on "Check for updates." If there are any pending updates, install them first and then check if the Realtek Semiconductor Corp. - Extension update error is resolved.
    2. Manually install the Realtek driver: You can try downloading the latest Realtek driver from their website and manually installing it. Make sure to choose the correct version of the driver that matches your system's specifications.
    3. Hide the Realtek update: If the above steps do not work, you can try hiding the Realtek update so that it does not show up in Windows Update. To do this, go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > View update history > Uninstall updates. Find the Realtek Semiconductor Corp. - Extension update in the list, right-click on it, and select "Hide update."

Hopefully, one of these steps will help you resolve the Realtek Semiconductor Corp. - Extension - 6.0.9433.1 Install error - 0x80070103.

    Hello Dev,

Thanks for your reply last week. Since pausing the updates, the four additional Realtek Semiconductor Corp. - Extension - 6.0.9433.1 updates that had downloaded and installed have gone, as has the error message which was appearing when unsuccessfully attempting to download and install it again. As per the update history, currently one Realtek Semiconductor Corp. - Extension - 6.0.9433.1 update has been successfully installed.

Hopefully that has all been rectified.

Thanks again for all your help.

    Kind regards,

    Kristin
