My Kworld DVD Maker 2 not installing

My Kworld DVD Maker 2 used to work fine on my Windows 10 computer in 2020 but now it seems it won't install the driver from the CD and says "Installer encountered an error 0x80096002 The certificate for the signer of the message is invalid or not found". I have tried to find updated driver file with no luck. Any ideas?

Hi there! My name is, Zadee. I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you. Sorry to hear about your experience. I'll try my best to help you today.

That has to be something with compatibility, I've done some research on its requirement, this was produced during xp and vista times. You're getting that error because the application has not been updated ever since and there are other security measures now before you can install apps in the latest Win 10/11 versions which the app was able to pass.

You can try running the setup file in compatibility and see if that goes through. Just right-click the setup or installer file > Properties > Compatibility tab > Check Compatibility mode "Run this program in compatibility mode for" > Select Win Vista > Ok > Run the setup again.

Hello Glen. I'm Greg, here to help you with this.

There are drivers here from reputable sites that might work:

    https://semantic.gs/kworld_dvd_maker_2_dvd_make...

    https://drivers.softpedia.com/get/TV-Tuner-Co/K...

Chances are it's no longer able to run in the latest version of WIndows 10 which sees more older software drop off with each new version, and there's no newer version from the author for a decade now (which is about 100 in computer years).

Let me know if you have any questions or I can help performing any of the above steps. Based on the results you post back I will have other steps to try if necessary.

Thanks Zadee, Unfortunately that didn't work. There was a window that popped briefly before the main error so I videoed it and it said "CheckOS". Is that any help? I tried reduced color and low resolution but neither worked. :(
