On Aptio Setup Utility how do I create a boot option when none show?

So background is that I stupidly formatted my laptop's harddrive instead of my external one and now I seem to have wiped it completely, OS and all. So when turning it on I get sent to the Aptio Setup Utility with no options to boot.

I've made a bootable environment on my external harddrive and tested it on another laptop. Works all good.

However plugging it to formatted laptop it won't show up on the boot.

I have looked for solutions but the only things I seem to be able to do are disable secure and fast boot.

Tried things:

There is no option to launch CSM in my BIOS Also nothing about legacy The Intel Rapid Storage Technology formset in Advanced shows no disks connected.

In trying to add a new boot option I can click Path for Boot Option and Select Storage Device with my External HD as an option. However selecting it does nothing. I'm lost with the explanation to enter the path to the boot option in format FSX:\path\filename.efi

My intended plan is to boot up my external HD and see if I can run data Recovery on the internal HD to recover what I formatted but I'm stuck at the point of trying to boot anything. There are no options in the Boot Option Priorities. The Add New Boot Option only appears when my external HD is connected but not sure how to add that as an option.

    Hi Luke,

Check the steps that Asus provide on this link to boot your system from USB.

    Hi Luke,

If you are using a newly created USB with the Media Creation Tool, that will not boot in Legacy Mode, your BIOS must be in UEFI Bios for the USB to be bootable, then Safe Boot and Secure Boot must be temporarily disabled.

None of these work. Following the legacy steps, as can be seen from my screen pics, there is no launch CSM and no option shows for Boot Override

The legacy steps and the other steps that are listed all require the usb option to be assumed in the BIOS which is not happening with mine as can be seen

Hey Dave, I appreciate the reply. Laptop is an Asus

Note that the Add New Boot Option only appears when I have my external harddrive plugged in. These screens are also as it appears with fast and secure boots disabled.

The below being my screen when I attempt to make a new boot option
