How to turn off a built-in wifi

I have a windows 11 desktop pc and a laptop.

I have bought a wifi dongle (you plug into a USB 3 port) and the instructions say that I should first turn off the built-in wifi when using it on a laptop. Does anybody know how I can turn off the the built-in wifi?

    Hi Ge285,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Open Device Manager from the right click menu on your Start Menu

    Expand the Network Adapters section.

Do you see a WiFi or WLAN device listed there?

If you do, right click that and select 'Disable' do not uninstall that device because Windows will re-install it every time you start your PC.

    That's it!
