I am unable to connect my Android phone to my Windows 11 PC. How do I fix this?

I use a Samsung Galaxy 8 that has been updated to the latest Android version.

Whenever I connect it through USB to my PC, it starts charging, confirming it is indeed connected. However, there is no prompt on screen to start transferring my phone's files and no way to open it either.

From all the advice I can find online, I'm supposed to look for and update the driver on Device Manager. However, my computer doesn't seem to have this. (For some reason I can't upload my screenshot here, but under "Other Devices", I only see: IcService_New; SerialPort; and SMS/MMS).

I have also followed the advice to enable Debugging USB on my phone. That has not worked either.

Any help would be appreciated!

    Hi, Rodrigo,

I have tried installing this driver twice. My computer is still not reading my phone, despite checking that it is unlocked and on debugging mode.

(FYI, though the Program files of the driver now appear, it is still not appearing in my Device Manager).

Do I have any other options?

    Hi DM_XIV,

I'm Rodrigo and I will help you.

Install the Samsung Android USB driver and try connecting the device again.

Did you try using another cable? There is a possibility of damage of the data line in the cable which allows charging but not data transfer.

If possible test the connection on another PC too.
