Reindexing Media (specifically music) Files

I am using a new Windows 11 all-in-one to stream music files to a Cambridge EVO 150. DLNA file sharing is turned on and I can successfully stream. However, the individual tracks on albums are not in the correct order. The help for the app (Cambridge StreamMagic) say the solution to this is to "rescan/reindex" the files. After lots of searching, I still cannot find any guidance on how to do this. will really appreciate any help to remedy this.

    Hi Richard,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Do they want you to re-index your music files with Windows?

If that is what they advise, here are the steps.

Click your Start Button and just type index

From the resulting list, open Indexing Options

First, click the Modify button, then ensure all the folders that contain your audio files are added to the index list and remove any other folders you may not need to index, then click OK

Then click the Advanced button and click the Rebuild button on the next dialog and apply that

That will cause Windows to delete the old index and re-index all your folders, that can take some time to complete, it will index faster if you leave you PC idle for a while.

    Hi Richard,

Sorry, i was offline, if the problem still exists, then yes, most likely it is a problem with that app, not with Windows.

Thanks, Dave. I successfully reindexed my music files. Oddly, it didn't resolve the problem (album tracks being in the incorrect order). Lots of folks have complained about problems with this app, so I suspect it is the problem.
