I do really dislike the new Media Player app which has merged Movies&TV and Groove Music. Is there any way to get back the old Groove Music player separetely from the new Media Player ? The interface was way much better and I don't need Media Player to play videos.

    Summary ( TL;DR)

Step 1: Uninstall Media Player App

Step 2: Download and Install old app from this link >> **** Google Drive

Step 3: Disable auto update of Microsoft Store and DON'T UPDATE Media Player App. >> Youtube Tutorial

    Details:

    Install Old Version Groove Music

    Step 0: Learn from makeuseof

How to Download Microsoft Store Apps Without the Microsoft Store - makeuseof

Old Groove Music Link on MS Store: https://apps.microsoft.com/store/detail/app/9wzdncrfj3pt?hl=en-us&gl=us

Step 1: Uninstall Media Player App

Step 2: Download Old version groove music from adguard

    Or,

You can just download Microsoft.ZuneMusic_2019.20112.10111.0_neutral version from this link >> Google Drive

The above link is the good Old Version. You can just download and install.

Step 3: Disable auto update of MS Store.

I'm sure I know the answer but just to check, so there was a Windows update and the update automatically removed the Groove music player and we should not care because everyone streams music now any way? Insane part is it looks like it allowed my computer to keep the old Windows Media Player from eons ago. You really begin to wonder if it's some elaborate conspiracy to kill off the audio music cd and the mp3 format. Meanwhile, I believe the Mac M2 minis still support iTunes working for the first version of ipod. Though, the manufacture of all ipods is discontinued.

    Hi Dexijy,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Microsoft have now deprecated the Groove music player and they removed it as a download on the Microsoft Store so there is no way to get it anymore.

The best option is to open the Feedback Hub (Windows key + F) and report the lack of functionality/usability in that new Media player app to the developers there.
