Every time HP "improves" something, they just make it harder ad harder to use the <<**!!!**+++ thing!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE stop trying to reinvent the wheel!! Each new thing makes you relearn everything you ever knew about computers This is just stupidity gone to seed!!!!!!! I've spent hours and days trying to figure out how to do the most simple things that had NO learning curve on previous models.. I am so sick of this techno **** I'm ready to throw the thing out the window. It is truly a waste of my life trying to work on the dang thing.
Cannot transfer files from Android 13 phone to Windows 11 PC using USB
With Windows 10 it was very easy to transfer files to and from my Android devices with a PC using a USB cable and File Explorer. I just moved to Windows 11, and this method of file transfer no longer works. Apparently I need to change on my Android cell phone "USB controlled by" from "This device [Android cell phone]" to "Connected device [PC]". But when I try to change this setting, I get a message "Couldn't switch" on my cell phone. I have tried multiple Android devices, and get the same message. This was never a problem with Windows 10, so I believe this to be an 11 problem.
Please do not advise me to use the Phone Link app. This does not work with files larger than 1GB. Thanks for the Community's assistance with this.

2023-03-03T11:18:30+00:00 Thanks for your response, but I had tried all of those steps before and those didn't work. But I did find the solution, and it was easy. I was looking in the wrong place on File Explorer. Now in Windows 11, files from my Android cell phone show up in This PC. So, problem solved.

2023-03-03T08:09:46+00:00 Hi Bangkok Barry,
Welcome to Microsoft Community.
It's possible that the issue you're experiencing is related to a driver or compatibility problem with Windows 11. Here are some things you can try to resolve the issue:
- Update your Android device's USB drivers: Make sure that you have the latest USB drivers installed on your Android device. You can usually find these drivers on your device manufacturer's website.
- Update your PC's USB drivers: Make sure that you have the latest USB drivers installed on your PC. You can usually find these drivers on your PC manufacturer's website.
- Restart both devices: Sometimes simply restarting both your Android device and PC can fix connection issues.
- Try a different USB cable: The USB cable you're using may be faulty. Try using a different USB cable to see if that resolves the issue.
- Check your USB connection settings: On your Android device, go to Settings > System > Developer options > Default USB configuration, and make sure that "File transfer" is selected. If this option is not available, make sure that "Developer options" are enabled on your device.
- Try a different USB port: Sometimes the USB port you're using on your PC may not be working correctly. Try using a different USB port on your PC to see if that resolves the issue.
If there is anything not clear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

2023-05-27T16:33:22+00:00 In Windows 11 Default USB configuration "Transferring images" works fine, but not Transferring files doesn't. The S22 must be set up correctly since everything is OK with a Windows 10 PC.
I have installed SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones.exe. It landed in Program Files/Samsung/USB Drivers.
