Laptop - Dell Inspiron 15 3000 series, Inspiron 3584

Wireless Card - Qualcomm QCA9377 802.11ac Wireless Adapter

One day my friend accidentally plucked out the wireless card. I plugged the card again into the slot with the antenna cables connected. But, the WiFi is not working. It is being recognized in the device manager. In device manager, if I click 'Show hidden devices', I can see Microsoft Wi-Fi Direct Virtual Adapter, but it is throwing an error stating 'Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45) To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer.' the location is 11 (VWIFI Bus 0).

Please do the needful and help me to find out the solution for this problem

I saw that in your first post. It confirms the adapter is either broken or needs the various fixes I gave you.

You can also try these fixes for error "Currently, this Wifi hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45) To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer:"

Feel free to ask back any questions. Based on the results you post back, I will have other suggestions if necessary.

    Mr. Greg

I was checking through the 'Events' tab in the properties of the Wireless adapter. I found 'device not started' with the following information.

Device PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0042&SUBSYS_18101028&REV_31\4&38e1d12c&0&00E5 had a problem starting.

    Driver Name: oem28.inf
    Class Guid: {4d36e972-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}
    Service: Qcamain10x64
    Lower Filters:
    Upper Filters: vwifibus
    Problem: 0x15
    Problem Status: 0x0

Can you please analyze this and find the cause.

    Please do the needful.

    Thank you

Hello, I'm Greg, here to help you with this.

Have you tried reconnecting the device to make sure it's plugged in firmly and correctly? Was it damaged at all, or is there a chance it's plugged in wrong?

If you can't get it working you may need to replace it with the factory part, or a USB nano wireless adapter.

You can also go over all other fixes for Windows 10 Wifi here to see if something else is causing this: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/for...

Make sure the latest Wifi driver is installed from the Dell Downloads page here: http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/Produ... for your Dell Service Tag on sticker located as shown here: https://www.dell.com/support/contents/us/en/04/...

While there check that you also have the latest chipset, BIOS, display, network, bluetooth, USB and all other drivers, compared to the ones presently installed in Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start button.

You can also run Dell Support Assist to automatically update factory drivers:

    https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/prod...

If it's still under one year warranty contact Dell Support here:

    https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us

If out of warranty you can ask in Dell's Forum which has engineers on staff:

Feel free to ask back any questions. Based on the results you post back, I will have other suggestions if necessary.
