Laptop started going to sleep after 2 minutes. Does not follow the power settings.

I shut down my laptop over the weekend. I also had a Geek Squad member remotely work on my laptop last week but it looked like all he did was run some scans. He didn't fix the issue he was supposed to be working on but that's another thing. After turning my laptop back on yesterday now it goes to sleep after just 1 or 2 minutes of inactivity. Sleep settings are set to 20 minutes regardless of being plugged in or on battery. Power mode is balanced.

Windows 11 version 22H2. HP laptop 15z 64bit

I have looked at the Power settings and cannot find where is says 2 minutes to go to sleep.

    Prakash,

That did nothing. I have all set to Never but still after a minute (I timed it) of inactivity the screen first goes to the Welcome screen and after a few seconds blacks out. I do have a second monitor but even with it disconnected the laptop acts the same. Used to be that with the monitor connected the laptop would never to to sleep and with the monitor disconnected this would occur with the laptop. I always have the monitor connected to have a 24" viewing surface vs a 15". I would just notice it going to sleep after a minute when I traveled with the laptop and didn't do much about it. Now it's happening whether monitor is connected or not. I am wondering if some app is doing this but can't determine which. I have ESET security but don't see anywhere there that would make this happen. I even tried looking at the event logs but the only thing I saw was some activity in Microsoft Security Audit when it went to sleep.

    Hello,

Thanks again for your reply and providing more information.

If you have check and all Windows setting then there can be some other Apps which is forcing screen to go to Sleep.

I would suggest you to please Uninstall ESET and any other Apps which you may have installed recently after which this issue started.

    Best Regards,

    Prakash

    Thanks for your reply.

Click Start button then go to Settings -> System -> Power & Battery -> expand the Screen and Sleep -> Turn off my screen after -> Never and also select Never to other options in Time.

I do not see an Advanced Power Settings under power. This is Windows 11. When I did a Search in Settings for it nothing was found. I did do the powercfg -restoredefaultschemes and rebooted but still the same thing is happening.
