OS (C:) Vs This computer folder

Hi - I've recently updated my PC and have a couple of questions about where files are stored.

I want to make sure I have a local copy of files which are accessible even when I don't have internet access.

  1. is OS (C:) local the same as a C drive?
  2. the local "copy" of my files (documents, photos, desk top) etc show in "This computer" folders section. not the OS (C:). Is that correct?
  3. Should I move them to OS (C:)?

Thanks if someone could clarify.

    Hello Darren -

The User folders for your Account are at C:\Users\Your Account Name.

The ones pinned to the Navigation panel on the left side of File Explorer are Quick Access links you can right click to Unpin and then Pin the actual folders if necessary.

If you run out of space on C you can move the User folders to another drive or partition on the same drive as shown here:

    https://www.thewindowsclub.com/how-to-move-user...

The official Shell User folders will always have the logo (document, picture, music note, download arrow, etc) and also have a Location tab on the Properties box. Any others are duplicates that can be deleted.

Feel free to ask back any questions. Based on the results you post back, I will have other suggestions if necessary.
