    Raniel,

Thank you for trying to help. I followed your instructions. Also I tried others and most all the time I'm still having the same problem. On occasion the typing works with no problem like it is happening right now for some reason and I'm typing fast right now! As I'm typing this response. You name it and I've done it. Everything from drivers for both the wireless keyboard and wireless mouse everything is up to date.. I'm on a computer since '95 and I still don't have the tech knowledge that you would think I should have. Some have a high I.Q. for this stuff, I don't. I am still pretty much a novice! I don't know what to do next because it is very frustrating the typing response being very slow. I don't know why it's not doing it now as I type this response? This computer is Windows 10 Pro and is 8 years old now and is NOT compatible for Windows 11 Upgrade. According to Microsoft support for Windows 10 will end on Oct, 15, 2025. I would like to use this computer at least 2 more years up to then if possible and then buy a new one with Windows 11. I have even looked at YouTube videos but there's too many posts. If you have anymore suggestions what I could try I would appreciate it. So at this point again thank you so much for trying to help. .J.C.

Good day! I'm Raniel. I understand your frustration regarding this issue and I'll do my best to help.

Just to clarify, did you make any changes to your machine before encountering this issue (like installing third party apps, recent updates, etc..)? or use a different (external) keyboard to isolate the issue?

Kindly run the Keyboard troubleshooter first: Go to Start > Settings > Update and Security > Troubleshoot > Additional Troubleshooters > Keyboard > select Run Troubleshooter.

Another option is to reinstall your keyboard driver:

    1. Open command prompt using your admin rights then type "devmgmt. msc" on the command prompt window to open Device Manager
    2. Expand Keyboards > right click on your keyboard driver and select Uninstall device
    3. Select the option to Delete the driver software for this device check box > Uninstall.
    4. Reboot your machine, then reinstall the keyboard driver by going to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for Updates.
    5. Go back to Device Manager. Click on Actions and select scan for hardware changes, then check again

I also suggest that you perform the additional methods on this article to further troubleshoot the issue: https://www.thewindowsclub.com/typing-lag-or-sl...

I hope this helps. Good luck!
