hey i have calibrated the hdr already, the issue was that the color profile would actually show me which one i was using when hdr was off and i was in sdr. also when hdr was on it'd display that im using a hdr color profile. this was shown in display settings. now i never see that box anymore no matter what. what has changed? was it an update or something?
Monitor Color profile does not display in display settings
i can not get colour profiles to show within the display settings. They were doing so until recently, does anyone know why they have gone or how i can fix that?
in display settings when im on sdr it used to show the color profile, without having to open color management, then when i switch to hdr it would show that the hdr color profile was active and i could see that in the display settings.
this is an example i found on Google, i dont have this anymore:

2023-03-13T12:59:30+00:00 I've been using Colorprofile Keeper for years because I found some color profiles for other monitors suit some games better than
the 'proper' icc profile for my monitor.
CPK is very light weight, runs from the ,exe without installing; allows you to choose any color profile you have stored in
Windows\System32\spool\drivers\color, and can be set up to launch with Windows and minimise to the System Tray for easy access.
(The authors site seems to have shut down, but you can still download successfully with the Major Geeks links) https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/cpkeeper.html
Note - I keep a backup file for the setup using my main icc because CPK sometimes looses the minimise option and
it's easier to get it working properly by swapping in the backup.

2023-03-13T12:22:15+00:00 Hello Med8581
Welcome to Microsoft Community.
From your picture, it appears that current monitors support HDR mode, but color profiles are not available in this mode. I also conducted relevant tests on this, and the color profile will become unavailable in HDR mode, but according to your description. It seems that the color profile option box has disappeared in Display Settings, could you please confirm that HDR mode is turned off, will the color profile option appear again?
If it can reappear, see the explanation below:
When the display is in HDR mode, Windows reads the color profile data from the display and correctly maps application colors to the color range supported by the display. This means that you cannot manually select a different color profile, as Windows will automatically adjust it for you.

When HDR mode is enabled on a monitor, it uses a different color space and gamma curve than SDR mode. The color space used in HDR is typically wider than the color space used in SDR, and the gamma curve used in HDR is different as well.

Because of these differences, the color profile that was selected for SDR mode may not be appropriate for HDR mode. In order to achieve accurate colors in HDR mode, a different color profile may need to be applied.

Therefore, when HDR mode is enabled, the color profile that was selected for SDR mode may become unselectable because it's not appropriate for the wider color space and different gamma curve used in HDR mode. When you switch back to SDR mode, the color profile becomes available again because the color space and gamma curve used in SDR mode are compatible with the previously selected color profile. If you need to calibrate the color in HDR mode, you can try the following Windows HDR calibration application, which can help you adjust the color to the standard color in HDR mode.

Hope this helps, feel free to reply if anything else is unclear.

2023-03-14T04:50:31+00:00 Oops, sorry. I focused too much on the loss of the profile button in Display. I recall one being in Win10, but not Win11.
CPK would not switch profiles automatically.
No HDR experience, so I didn't realise it would need to change to another icc profile, but having heard how imperfect HDR
is I wouldn't be surprised it would look better with a different profile.
