Error with PUR-UserAlreadyOwnsContent

I'm getting a "Looks like you already own this..." message with error "PUR-UserAlreadyOwnsContent" when I try to purchase extras for Fishdom (extra lives, resources, etc.).I'm on a Windows 10 PC, and I didn't have this problem before yesterday, nor do I have it now on other devices in my house. It's also true that I've previously purchased the "content", but they are all things that you are able to purchase over and over again as often as you want (they aren't an app, just add-ons), not just one-time purchases. I have found 5 year-old references to this problem online but none of the mentioned fixes have helped: I've resent Microsoft Store, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, cleared caches. The only thing that changed is a recently did the latest Windows update, but I also did that on the other devices in my house and they don't have this problem.

UPDATE: This is now happening on every computer in our home, so we no longer can enjoy any games that involve enhancements involving in-app purchases. And again, this hasn't been a problem for years of game-playing, it only happened when we performed the latest update.
Since there appears to be some confusion, I wanted to reiterate:
    A) We attempt to make an in-app purchase.
    B) We receive the message telling is that we already have purchased the item in question.
    C) We KNOW we have already purchased that item, AND it does show up in our order history.

*The problem is that the items in question are meant to be purchased more than once, and we have never had a problem buying them more than once until now. I am NOT saying that we purchased something but are not getting it. I am saying that we are not allowed to make a purchase based on the fact that we have bought that item previously, when in fact that item should be allowed to be purchased more than once.
This is like going to Starbuck's to buy a coffee, and having them tell you that you can't buy a coffee because you already bought one yesterday!

    Hi Lenka,

Thanks for the quick response! The problem is that I DID already make the purchase the purchase it says, but I should be able to make that same purchase over and over again, not just once. Normally it will show in my order history multiple instances of purchasing the same item, but now since the latest Windows update I am getting this error the second time I try to purchase any of these items (and they are all things that I should be able to purchase multiple times).
I don't want to create 3 or 4 new Microsoft accounts a day just so I can play a game that has worked fine literally for years until this last Windows update.
I want that problem to be fixed, I don't want to have to go through an elaborate workaround constantly, it defeats the purpose of a game.

    Thanks,

    Chris

    Hello Christopher H_RI,

Thanks for using Microsoft products and posting in the community.

I understand that you get a PUR-UserAlreadyOwnsContent error after buying something from the Microsoft Store, which may occur when you try to install or update an application or game that you already own or have installed on another device. You can try these steps to resolve this error.

    • Log out of your Microsoft account and log back in
    • Check your order history to make sure you have successfully completed your purchase

If you are still having the same problem, try buying again by changing your account and logging into the Microsoft Store.

If you don't have another account on your system try creating a new local administrator account to sign in.

Click here Create a local user or administrator account in Windows for more detailed.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any further updates, thanks.

    Best Regards,
