    Hello Dinesh Gaikwad,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Error 0x80071771 usually means that you were unable to complete the decryption operation for some reason. Possible reasons are:

    1. The file is damaged. (This is what frustrates us most.)
    2. The file is encrypted and you do not have sufficient permissions to decrypt the file. (This is more likely)
    3. The decryption program you are using is incorrect. (This possibility is only considered if a three-party encryption program is involved, but not if you are using only EFS encryption of the system.)

To resolve this issue, you need to check that the file is not corrupt, that the account you are currently logged in to is the account you used when you encrypted it earlier, and that the current account has adequate permissions.

In the first case, if several files are encrypted at the same time, they should try to decrypt the other files based on the same encryption configuration. If you find that all the other files are decrypted properly, then we can guess that the file may have been corrupted. In this case, there is almost no possibility of repair.

For the second case, I have found the following link information for you, please refer to Shafeeq_Khan's reply to change permissions on the folder where the encrypted file is located:

Error: 0x80071771, The Specified File Could Not Be Decrypted While Accessing A Video File On An External Hard Drive.

If account permissions are an issue, this scheme allows you to operate on the file with the highest privileges, possibly to decrypt it.

In the third case, which only occurs when a tripartite encryption program is used, it should be a matter of confirming and trying the correct decryption program, otherwise you may need to contact the creator of the encryption software or customer service for further assistance.

If anything is unclear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best regards,
