    Hi Pablo,

My name is Merlina, I am an Independent Advisor and a user like yourself.

Thanks for reaching out. I understand your question regarding enabling the keyboard on your HP EliteBook. I'll do my best to help you.

Please try holding the right shift key for 8 seconds to lock and unlock the keyboard or try the following: Use Shift + Fn (actually Fn + Shift, button-down-order seems to matter here) on HP EliteBook.
if the issue persists, I suggest contacting HP Support as they have the advanced settings for this concern.

I hope you have a great day! thank you.

Hold down the RIGHT shift key - this may take several as I think mine took 3 minutes - you may hear a beep when you start and when you unlock. Also go to setting and change what your keyboard does/does not do. Writing this I have forgotten what the settings are - look them up - sorry I do not have them. Good luck, I am lucky enough to have 2 computers.

    • Right click the windows start button and select "Device Manager".
    • Expand the "Keyboards" section and right-click on the keyboard device.
    • Select "Enable Device" from the context menu.

I also have the same issue (EliteBook). I have tried to hold down the shift button without success. I don´t know whether the keybord is damaged somehow or not. The backlight is working though. No key/button at all is working! Do I need to buy a new computer now? Really disapointed.
