Just got a surface book 3 and installed windows 11. I have a program called NVIDIA control panel but when I click it I'm given an error message: NVIDIA Graphics card not found on your system. All updates and driver updates are done but still when I search on device manager the only display adapter is Intel Iris Plus. I want to know two things: What is NVIDIA and shouldn't my surface book have it installed already? Why is it missing?

Ok thank you for this suggestion, I had read that this NVIDIA card was the better of the two graphics cards, would that be accurate? And would I notice much difference between them?

    Hi Tim,

You might follow this steps Nvidia Quadro RTX 3000 GPU has disappeared on Surface Book 3 after - Microsoft Community

The NVidia Quadro is the best one and it is not showing up not because of windows decision on which is better as Nada stated. This is because of some issues that are not letting you to use the powerful features of your computer.

Unfortunately, I follow that steps and they did not work for me but hopefully will work for you.

Hi Tim! Thanks for your response. It seems like you haven't installed NVIDIA driver yet on your device, so it's not showing on your device manager.

You can install NVIDIA driver from their website

https://www.nvidia.com/download/index.aspx. However, I suggest you keep Intel as your graphics/display since it appears to be the recommended driver for your system and device.

    Hello TIM,

My name is Nada an independent advisor, and I'm here to help you.

I'm sorry that you are experiencing this issue, and I will try my best to assist you.

NVIDIA Control Panel is a Windows Utility tool, which lets users access critical functions of the NVIDIA drivers. Technically, Nvidia is the driver manufacturer of your graphics/display driver.

Windows 11 has a basic graphics driver upon installation such as Intel, Nvidia or Microsoft basic display. Regardless of the graphics model, it would still do it’s purpose to optimize your graphics especially when you are gaming.

You mentioned you already tried to update the driver but I would like to confirm if you were able to select or browse other options from your device manager using the following steps:

    1. Open Device Manager:
    2. Click the drop-down for Display adapters
    3. Look for your display driver
    4. Right-click and select the option Update
    5. Look for the option that says "Browse my computer for driver..."
    6. Then select "Let me pick drivers available drivers.."
    7. Then choose Nvdia version if available and click next to use it.
    8. Please restart the device for the changes to take effect.
