My Surface Book 2 has a i7-6600U processor and it automatically upgraded to Windows 11 a few months ago.
Now it's back to Windows 10 and I can't make it go back to W11 because "i7-6600U processor is not compatible??"
So, why did it upgrade automatically before?

Yes, it is upgradeable to Windows 11 as there are some work arounds to do this. Despite it not making the grade (mainly due to no TPM processor) My HP i7-6700T has not had any issue since upgrading to Windows 11 even though it does not meet the minimum requirements and NOT recommeded for upgrading by Microsoft. I have yet to encounter a problem since upgrading to Windows 11 over a year ago.

    Hello, how are you?

Actually according to Microsoft's list of Windows 11 compatible processors, this is not a compatible processor.

It really is strange if he has already received the update to Windows 11.

It may be that there was some bug or error to install this update.

In addition to UEFI, TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot, to support Windows 11 the Processor must have a feature called VBS or Windows Memory Integrity, but those that are not on the list do not support this.

That's why MS decided not to include these processors in the list, as it can generate a lot of performance problems.

It is even possible to install Windows 11 manually, but it is not recommended as it is not worth it.

Anyway, Windows 10 will be compatible until 2025, the recommendation is to keep it, if you keep using this processor.

Which "6600u" It's supposed to be a certain gen, and it won't be with if it's advertised as 6600u.
