Is it true, that Microsoft has moved to subscription based licenses from 1st Jan 2022? MS Server 2022 Standard, SQL 2019 Standard, RDS, SQL Cal's all 1year subscriptions? and we cannot buy lifetime licenses?

@Anonymous thank you, i have made notes of this links and sent them to my supplier before, to show them that it can be purchased from the sites we are resellers and we make a buck or two on the pricing so the pricing listed on the Microsoft website is significant more expensive then reselling. also look at the SQL link its 1year subscription based.

Sure, the point is the products can be purchased and are for sale. Since you're a reseller then you should use your inside connection with microsoft about reseller pricing.

Never heard about anything like that. Not that I follow licensing very vigorously, but I kind of expect that I would have heard of such a radical change.

From where have you gotten this, hm, rumour?

Agree, i cant understand why the Supplier and Microsoft is making this statement.

This is there response... attached is a picture of there quotes 1year licenses on all Microsoft products

PLEASE NOTE:

OLP is obsolete ended December, OVNCW OR OVS will still be available till Microsoft confirms (to be confirmed)

Pls find the below – no confirmation as yet but definitely OLP will not feature anymore

If the customers have bought OLP during this period, their licenses are valid for 2 years

I have added the below for your info

OLP - EOL ended December
OVS - still available until Microsoft announces that its ending.
OVNCW- still available until Microsoft announces that its ending.
