Microsoft Server subscription licenses

Is it true, that Microsoft has moved to subscription based licenses from 1st Jan 2022? MS Server 2022 Standard, SQL 2019 Standard, RDS, SQL Cal's all 1year subscriptions? and we cannot buy lifetime licenses?

    Never heard about anything like that. Not that I follow licensing very vigorously, but I kind of expect that I would have heard of such a radical change.
