Transferring music files from PC to Android phone without success

I'm trying to download music from PC to Android phone with USB cable. I cannot download even one music file before this message pops up: "Windows Media Player encountered a problem while syncing the file to the device." Windows Media Player works fine on the computer. I have my phone on USB settings/transfer files/Android Audio.

Why won't they transfer?

Have you tried transferring the music by Bluetooth? Are you able to use the Phone Link? If you can use the Phone Link you may be able to drag and drop the music onto your phone.

I was able to drag and drop these songs into the folder I created on my Samsung Galaxy S20 Phone using the Phone Link. I created the folder for the songs on my phone and then had to select all the songs and drag and drop them into the folder. See Image below. Click on, tap, or activate image to enlarge it.

Do you have a My Files on your phone? Open that and look at what is available. I have an SD card that I have some music on, see bottom image. but you should be able to do the same with your Internal storage.

Thank you for your ideas. I have tried what you said but cannot do that, maybe because my Phone Link only has Messages, Calls, Apps & Photos as possible choices. I tried to use audio on the left column, but got nowhere. Nothing else will drag & drop. I don't see why a USB cable wouldn't do it. I'm stymied.

I do have a My Files app on my phone, but the Samsung music seems to be just the ringtones and notification sounds that came with the phone. I was surprised to see two music folders under Favorites, and I don't know how I got them in there. I still am left trying to figure out how to transfer music on the computer into my phone. Phone Link isn't doing it, and a USB cable inked to my phone isn't either. :-(
