AirPods Pro automatically connecting to laptop when it starts

Every time I start my laptop, my AirPods Pro automatically connects to my laptop, even if it is already connected to my iPhone. This is extremely annoying as I have to manually go into Bluetooth settings and disconnect them before connecting them again to my iPhone from Control Centre. Is there a way to stop this from happening without forgetting the device since I need to use them with my laptop from time to time?

It is kinda annoying having to disconnect every time but I guess that's what I have to do if there is no setting that exists. I wish Microsoft would add that soon.

These are the only options next to the AirPods. Am I pressing the right button?

Thanks for the response, but I cannot find the "Options" button under Bluetooth settings. Can you provide a screenshot or something?

I got up to the "> Click on your AirPods Pro to connect them, but do not check the "Connect as an audio device" option." step but there is no 'Connect as an audio device option'. I am using Windows 11 so maybe it is a bit different?

Hi Ian! I hope you are well. My name is, Zadee. I'll try my best to help you today.

I've searched around and I don't think that setting exists to not allow paired devices to auto-connect. There are only 2 ways, either you unpair it or just turn off your laptop's BT feature. Turning off the BT from the laptop should allow other devices to connect to your AirPods.

    Kind Regards,
