I have managed to fix my "no output device" problem. Norton found the problem. There was an issue with the Intel Smart Sound Driver (version 10.23.3672.201). Norton revetered to the Intel Smart Sound Technology OED (version 10.23.0.4880)

2023-11-13T20:07:11+00:00 Yes, Intel will tell you that your drivers are up to date - for the existing audio chip in your computer. But Microsoft apparently wrote Windows 11 to work with upgraded sound chips on newer hardware, which is why the message says "No audio device installed." The software is not recognizing the older sound hardware. If you missed the really short window MS gave us to return to Win 10, you are stuck with a computer with a Windows OS that can no longer interact with your audio hardware component. Solutions are: 1. Switch from Windows to some other OS but that will mean your MS Office software and many other apps you have used for years will no longer work. 2. Buy a new computer with an audio hardware component that works with Windows 11. 3. Buy a Mac and learn a whole new way of doing things on a computer - that may drive you crazy. 4. Sue the MS baxxxrds!

2023-11-13T20:04:47+00:00 That’s rediculus…. It’s amazing how I buy a laptop in Feb of 2020 & this is the nonsense we have to deal with. It’s one thing to have software issues but when basic updates make the basic hardware not work…that’s a problem.
