I am trying to update my windows which is currently on 1704 but not being able to do so and have tried all the below mentioned steps:-

  1. Tried updating from Check for Updates - there facing error "An update is being prepared for your device, but it's not quite ready yet. We'll keep trying or you can try again now."

2)I ran then SFC , DISM and troubleshooting for updates by reading from other threads but that also didn't help still got the same issue

3)Downloaded and ran Windows10Upgrade from this Link-https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/software-download/windows10. So it shows installation completed after running for 2hrs and after restarting the system its still on 1704 so I guess that also failed.

Would really appreciate if there is any working solution for this.

I believe the additional EFI partition is confusing the setup process. As setup tries to update the BCD, it encounters error 2 ("File not found").

Suggest disconnecting the SATA drive and rerunning setup. You can reconnect it after finishing the setup.

The logs displayed many BSOD without creating mini dump files.

The BIOS is out of date.

The Dell website displayed that there are tested drivers up to Windows 10.

    • Download the 22H2 ISO using Rufus or Media Creation Tool.
    • Double-click the ISO to mount it to a drive letter.
    • Run Setup.exe and complete the upgrade process.

If the upgrade fails, please download SetupDiag and run it. The tool collects the setup logs and saves them into a zip file named Logs.zip on your desktop. Upload the file to your OneDrive, Dropbox, or any other cloud hosting account and share the link here.

Right now when I am trying to upgrade windows -

    1. From check for updates option in settings I am getting this error as mentioned in the screenshots.

2)From Windows10Upgrade application everything is getting completed for 22H2 update from Download to Installation to Restart of system yet the windows is not updated which is baffling for me.

V2 logger ran successfully. Here is the log file link - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1sqLWmNWg36SBp2MGbU0Uv\_v12p2Bp22g/view?usp=share\_link

The Windows 10 17 versions were from 2017.

What's happening now that you're trying to upgrade Windows?

Please run the V2 log collector and post a share link into this thread using one drive, drop box, or google drive.
