High Latency on only 1 device

Hello, for the last couple of days i have been unable to play any games that rely on internet connection based on the quality on my experience playing them. I have done multiple different speed-tests and i found my speed slowly going up to its normally levels then jumping back down to around 30-40% of its normal speed. this speed isnt the problem however, as this causes my ping to go from a solid 30-50 to above 1000 every few seconds. The process what happens is:

  1. The Wi-Fi is solid for about 1-3 seconds
  2. the speed freezes for about 2-4 seconds
  3. the speed plummets to around 30% of normal speed
  4. the speed slowly increases back to around the normal amount
  5. Repeat cycle

I have tried updating drivers of my network adapter, and have also done speed-tests on other devices connected to the same network which came back 'all clear' i have also done tests from my network provider which said that there were no issues on their end. I have also tried to roll back driver updates and clear space from my computer, both proving fruitless. I have also tried restarting my router, and the the things similar to that, but once again to no avail. I have currently ran out of ideas on what to do about this, and thus am asking for support as this is primarily what i use this PC for.

P.S. This issue started from nowhere just the other day, i have had this PC for over 2 years without any problems, and can validate its background and it is free from malware and viruses.

P.P.S This does not affect me when i am browsing websites or watching YouTube (However the problem is ongoing in the background)

    Hi,

    Try running a clean boot.

Disconnect any external devices from your PC, temporarily uninstall any 3rd party Firewall/Antivirus via its proprietary removal software, uninstall any VPN software or network optimization software, (such as SmartByte, Killer Network Manager, cFosSpeed etc. Then try again.

If the problem persists, perform a Clean Boot: https://www.elevenforum.com/t/perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows-11-to-troubleshoot-software-conflicts.2787/

If the problem does not occur during the Clean Boot mode, the guide itself indicates how to proceed to identify the software or program that creates the interference or conflict.

    Hello Franco,

The only information i have is that it is an ADMI 'Gaming PC' (desktop)

I am connecting directly to my routers WiFi network

The router is in an adjacent room on the same floor.

I cannot connect it via network cable.

    Hi.

Specify make and model of your computer, desktop PC or laptop?

Are you connecting directly to the router's WiFi network or are you using a WiFi Repeater or Range Extender? Are the router and PC in the same room or are they in different rooms?

If you have the possibility, try to connect the PC to the router directly via network cable and see if the problem disappears.
