Why is my headset not working no matter what approach i take to fix it?

I have 2 headsets, one Xbox one headset and one Razer headset. Both are fully operational and work properly (tested them on a different device) and when i plug them into any aux plug on my PC, all i hear is a small amount of static (so i know they're getting an electrical signal) and then my PC doesn't even recognize that they're plugged in. It also doesn't show up on my PC that the slots i'm trying are even there and the only audio devices that show up are from the HDMI output.

Please help.

    Hi there,

I've tried all of the methods you suggested for resolving it and none of them have resolved it. Thank you though.

In my audio settings and device manager it doesn't show my headset anywhere and any plugs i've tried have given me the same small bit of static then nothing.

Thank you for your help nonetheless

    Alex

    Hi Alex,

I'm sorry to hear that none of the methods I suggested have resolved the issue with your headsets. It's possible that there could be a hardware issue with your PC or your headset.

If your headset is not showing up in your audio settings or device manager, it could indicate that there is an issue with the connection between the headset and the PC. You may want to try cleaning the headphone jack on your PC or checking the cable of your headset for any damages.

    Best regards,

Hi Alex, my name is John D. an independent advisor happy to help you with this.

I understand that you're experiencing issues with your headsets on your Windows 10 PC. It appears that your headsets are fully functional, and the issue might be related to the PC.

Here are a few steps you can take to try and resolve the issue:

    > Check your audio settings and make sure that your headphones are selected as the default playback device.

    > Update your audio drivers by going to the device manager, finding your audio device, and selecting "Update driver."

    > Try plugging your headset into a different port and see if it works.

I hope these steps help you resolve the issue with your headsets.

    Best regards,

    John D.
