    I experience the same issue on my laptop (Acer Nitro 5 - i5 10300h, 16GB ddr4 2933, rtx 3060, 512GB NVMe OS (win 11 23h2 22635.2850) drive and 1TB sata ssd)

The issue is really prevalent when installing games through Steam. I have not tried other game launchers but it almost always happens when I update or install games on Steam. My SSD gets so slow that even audio playback from Spotify in the background can't keep up. Even opening the Windows menu takes 20 seconds..

I am worried this may mean that my SSD is dying but it feels like it's a software issue somewhere.

If you have since found and fixed the issue, I'd love to hear how

Kindly provide the following information so we can proceed with fixing the issue.

-What is the build and version of your Windows?

-Do you have any third-party anti-virus installed on your PC?

-Are you using a wired or wireless connection?

-From where are you downloading the games?

    Hello MARTINEZ,

My name is Nada, I'm sorry that you are experiencing this issue, and I will try my best to assist you.

Many apps are set to automatically start whenever your PC is started, some are required and should be in the start-up process, but many aren't needed and create resources that can slow down the PC.

Let us perform some steps to boost the performance of your Windows PC.

    Method 1:

    Disable startup apps

Please right-click on the Start menu and select Task Manager> Startup apps > right-click on each app and change the status to Disabled.

    Method 2:

    Clean boot

To start press the Windows key and R > then type msconfig then press enter > click on Services tab > select Hide all Microsoft services, and then select Disable all > click on Apply then Ok.

    Method 3:

    Roll-back Display driver

-Please press the Windows key and X on your keyboard and select Device Manager

-Select the arrow next to Display adapters to expand it

    -Please right-click on Display Drive

    -Select Update driver

-Then select Browse my computer for driver

-Choose Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer

-You'll see a list of pre-installed drivers > Select the first driver on the list and click on Next.

Hope the above information helps. Please let me know how it goes.

    Best Regards,
