How do I enter CMD to type in a command?

    Way 1: Press Windows + R keys and type cmd in the "Run" dialog.

    Press enter to open cmd.

    Way 2: Click on the Start menu and type cmd or command prompt.

    Press enter to open it.

    Way 3: Right click on the start menu button and click on Terminal or Command Prompt (whichever you have there).

    One of the methods to open a Command Prompt window is below:

    • Right-click Start, click Run.
    • Type CMD.EXE and click OK.

    (Note: If you need to open Command Prompt as administrator, press Ctrl + Shift + Enter after typing CMD.EXE in the Run dialog. See also How to Open Elevated or Admin Command Prompt in Windows).

    Optionally, you can pin the Command Prompt shortcut to your Taskbar for quick access.
