- There is no bluescreen. My pc just turns off and I lose any progress in a game or any unsaved work.
- My pc is custom built
parts: Gigabyte auros BB650m elite ax (rev 1.1), ryzen 7 7700x, Corsair Vengeance DDR5 32GB, 1 tb nvme ssd, 1 tb hdd, 2 tb hdd, 750 watt power supply, RTX 2060, Noctua nh 4-15 - Windows 22h2 (OS build 22621.1555)
PC Crashes when Ryzen 7 7700x is 95 c, but this cpu was designed to run at this temperature. How do I stop this from happening
I want to stop my pc from automatically shutting down because I've lost ~50 hours in games because of this.

2023-04-23T20:38:58+00:00 Thermal paste covers the whole CPU, even low intensity games such as LoL push it up to 90 C, and my GPU is almost always a solid 40 C, so airflow and ambient temp isn't the problem, and my case is already full with fans.

2023-04-23T09:37:51+00:00 - I don't think your cpu is designed to run @95C. This is the max safe temp for this cpu under full load (with the stock cooler, I believe).
When it hits 95C is is probably (should be) thermal throttling (reducing the clock speed or voltage) to protect it from failure.
When this happens system intensive games will tend to crash due to the sudden drop in processing power.
If you are getting this high a temp running one of the infamous bench-marking tools this may explain hitting the max temp
as these tools push the cpu as far as they can go (why I said infamous).
Games are the best and safest way to benchmark your system. With perhaps a very few exceptions, games shouldn't be
pushing the cpu right up to 95C.
- Assuming the thermal paste is correctly applied to your Noctua cooler, and if changing the fan speed curve so the fan
speeds up sooner does not help bring the temps down to 90 C or lower (lower is always desirable with any cpu)
you may need to change up to a liquid cooler.
Air coolers are just as good when not overclocking with most cpu's, but any cpu that runs this hot without overclocking may
benefit from using a high quality liquid cooler.
- High ambient air temps also have some effects on cooling. Even with liquid coolers that have small coolant capacity.
- How are your gpu temps going ?
- Depending on your case, and how many fans it has atm, it may also help to add a couple of extra case fans as well.

2023-04-23T07:36:03+00:00 Here are the steps you can try to take on your system.
- Turn off Fast Startup • Open the Control Panel by pressing the Windows key on your keyboard, typing "control panel" and hitting enter. • Change the view mode of the Control Panel to large icons. • Select "Power Options". • Click on the “Choose what the power buttons do” link. • Open the "Change settings that are currently unavailable" link. • Uncheck "Turn on fast startup (recommended)" and click on Save changes then restart your computer to apply the changes.
- Update your GPU Driver • Right-click on the Start menu and select Device Manager. • Click the arrow to expand Display adapters. • Right-click on your display adapter and select Properties. • Switch to the Details tab and click the "Device description" drop-down, then choose Hardware Ids. • Open your browser, paste in the ID, and search for it. The first few search
results will show the exact name and manufacturer of your GPU.
• Go to the website of the GPU manufacturer and download an updated driver. • Install the driver and restart your computer to apply the changesHoping this helps. Feel free to reply if you still need further assistance, and I'll be more than happy to assist you.

- What is the error message during Bluescreen or just a sudden shutdown with no error message?
- Are you using a custom-built PC?
- What is your current Windows build and version? To check, press the Windows
key + R to open the run tab and type in "winver" and hit enter.
