Fix in latest stable update from April (then one bot on Path Tuesday, but later).
How to enable seconds in system clock
Title says it all.
Found this article, which had a couple suggestions: https://winaero.com/how-to-enable-seconds-for-the-taskbar-clock-in-windows-11/
" Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Taskbar behaviors, and check the “Show seconds in system tray clock” option."
Is not there for me
Tried registry fixes, but that made it worse and actually removed the system clock all together, while also breaking the start menu completely. Had to undo that change and now back to square one.
Why on Earth would Microsoft remove the seconds from the clock? I use it quite often for a game I play.. Very frustrating when they remove common sense features like this. Really looks like MSoft put some extremely incompetent people in charge of Win 11. Reminds me of when they hired the guy from Nike to design Win 8 Metro UI. I think we all remember how that went!!
EDIT: WAS fixed for about 2 months with April update, but now it's gone again!!!
Someone from Microsoft owes me an explanation!!

2023-04-12T13:15:19+00:00 Cannot believe it STILL hasn't been added after many feature requests submitted.. They don't care/listen. Windows 11 is a huge insult to advanced users. Massive step in the wrong direction.

2023-02-02T21:58:18+00:00 Thanks for getting back to me.
But man.. can't even share the build number on here? Truly laughable. Roadblocks and bugs around every corner..
I've restarted, checked again but no new updates. Will try and be patient, but thinking of going back to WIn 10 which would solve a TON of other issues as well. Here's my list, in case you're curious:
"Never combine taskbar items" is gone. It now takes twice as many clicks to get to the window I want. Adding extra clicks for the same behavior is the wrong direction. Who designed this? Did they bring the same person from Nike back who was in charge of the Win 8 Metro UI? Should be fired!
And how about that new right click menu? The stupid "show more items" option at the bottom, yet again adds an extra step that wasn't there before. Winrar, VLC and other right click context menus are hidden behind "Show more items". Had to implement a registry hack to get the old one back. Why not give a user friendly option for everyone to choose?
Looks like Control Panel is being phased out, even though it's still extremely useful. All those shortcuts right in one spot, much easier to navigate than "Settings". And I can't even pin the Control Panel to start menu.. Lets me pin everything else, but that. Ridiculous.
And most infuriating is the Windows Game recorder no longer records the window with focus, about half the time. Randomly records other windows that I'm not even clicked into, instead of my game. Missed some amazing footage yesterday which I thought was being recorded. Never had any of these issues with Win 10. So upset with this pathetic attempt of a major version upgrade. This is NOT Windows 11. It just can't be.
