My computer won’t click on anything at all but it moves just fine. The computer just started acting up this morning. Anyone know why?

My computer started doing the exact same thing after it wakes up from sleep. I can move the cursor around but it wouldn't let me click on things until about 1 min later.

    Hi Mariam,

There can be several reasons for the issue you're experiencing. The most possible reason could be an outdated or corrupted I/O driver. You should try updating it to see if it solves the problem. If that doesn't work, there could be other causes, which I've listed below:

    • Restart your computer - Sometimes a simple restart can solve the problem.
    • Check your mouse or touchpad - Make sure that your mouse or touchpad is working properly. Try plugging in a different mouse or using an external touchpad if available.
    • Check the mouse settings - Make sure that the mouse settings are configured correctly in the Control Panel or Settings app.
    • Scan for malware - Malware or viruses can cause issues with your computer, including problems with your mouse. Run a malware scan to see if there are any infections.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

    best regards, Ashwin J.

    I have the same issue.

Mouse moves alright, but when clicking it takes lots of attempt before windows responds
