That's fine. Let me know if I can help further. I'll stay subscribed to this thread in case you need anything else, until the System locks it in a few months.
Does the name of the workgroup have any specific effect?
Hello,
I have some computers in 1 local network. (Windows 10 latest version)
by default, all machines have the workgroup name is WORKGROUP. All computers can see each other and share files with each other. However, when I wanted to separate 3 computers into 1 separate workgroup, so I named the workgroup on those 3 computers is TESTWG, surprisingly all computers still see each other.
So what is the name of the workgroup used for? If you allow renaming but you still see each other after changing the name, is it a feature error?

2023-04-20T02:10:11+00:00 Thank you for your reply, but it doesn't explain my case.
according to workgroup theory: "Joining a workgroup requires all participants to use a MATCHING NAME. All Windows 10 computers are automatically assigned to a default group named WORKGROUP".
But you see, in my case, even though the workgroup names "TESTWG" and "WORKGROUP" were different, these two workgroups still saw each other and shared normally, so the different workgroup names were not correct in theory.

2023-04-20T06:08:16+00:00 thank you, I also posted on the feedback hub but maybe the dev didn't notice. But that's okay, on this community page there may be members who also have this problem. I'm waiting for more replies to try.

2023-04-20T02:28:28+00:00 I understood that and don't have an explanation for it. It may just be ignoring the new name, or it hasn't taken effect yet.
If you want to report this to Microsoft you may be able to help improve this product/experience by using the Feedback Hub in Start Menu, especially if you are willing to share logs and other requested information.
While they will probably not see this here in the forums, Microsoft developers DO read feedback from customers that comes in via the Feedback Hub, so that is a great way to share your thoughts on how to better serve you as a customer.
