How to disable menu key (also called context key) that exist on some (notebook) keyboards?

Situation: when writing I often touch the menu key / context key on the keyboard (it is on the right half in the frontmost row between AltGr and Ctrl) by accident. If that happens «undo» is preselected – and by touching the next key this is done immediately and the written text is deleted without possibility to recover that text as redo is not available (in some programs as Notepad).

So I want either to disable that key, or to bind it onto another key (like the blue function key) so that it is disabled unless you also press the function key at the same time (this should also be done with the windows key that I use less than once in several months).

Btw.: completely disabling menu and windows key would be a valuable solution.

How to modify the keyboard accordingly (as MSKLC does not have access to these special keys).

Hi there! I hope you are well. My name is, Zadee. I'll try my best to help you today.

Remap the key using Power Toys. It's one of its many features. Once you have that downloaded, go to Keyboard Manager > Remap key > Physical key (Context menu button) > Under Mapped to, click the dropdown and select Disabled.

    You can download it here:

    Hope that helps.

Btw. the key is called "Apps/Menu"

First I tried to remap it to ctrl-Apps/Menu or shift-Apps/Menu – but this does not seem to be possible.

But disabling is possible – and this should solve the problem so far.

    Thanks ...

PS: how to change the "solution did not work" to "solution did work"?
