having Ping spikes all the time and random disconnects from my WIFI on my PC

So, my WIFI on my PC has been having issues since and I really dont know how to fix it. I always get ping spikes and even sometimes disconnect from the WIFI. This especially happens a lot when my brothers PC is on his PC. The thing is, ive even played online games with my brother, and he seems to have no issues about disconnects and ping spikes, while I was disconnecting several times. I have the same WIFI stick like my brother and i even bought a new one for the thought that the issues were coming from my last one, but im still getting the spikes n disconnects. Any help would be appreciatable. Thanks!

    Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

    I suggest doing the following:

    Reset the network settings:

    1. Open Start and select "Settings > Network & Internet > Status";
    2. At the bottom of the page, click on "Network Reset";
    3. Select "Reset Now", and at the confirmation screen, select "Yes";

    Note: The PC will need to be restarted.

    1. Now open Start and type cmd;
    2. Right-click on "Command Prompt" in the result list and select "Run as administrator";
    3. At the Command Prompt, type the following commands one at a time and press Enter:

    netsh int ip reset

    netsh winsock reset

    ipconfig /release

    ipconfig /renew

    ipconfig /flushdns

    1. Restart your PC and see if the issue is resolved.

    If it persists, reinstall the Wi-Fi driver.

    Before starting the procedure, go to the support area of the Wi-Fi stick manufacturer's website and download the latest driver.

    (If you cannot find it, let me know the manufacturer and model of your Wi-Fi stick)

    Uninstall the current driver:

    1. Open "Device Manager" (Windows + X and select Device Manager);
    2. Expand "Network adapters";
    3. Right-click on the Wi-Fi adapter and select "Uninstall device";

    (It may have more than one adapter. If you don't identify the correct one, send a screenshot. Use the shortcut "Windows + Shift + S" to use the screenshot tool)

    1. On the confirmation screen, check "Delete the driver software for this device" and click "Ok";
    2. Restart the PC.

    Install the driver you downloaded.

    Feel free to ask back any questions.

    My PC and the wifi are in the same room. The distance is about 4 meters. By level, do you mean the bars on the wifi logo on the taskbar? If so, i always have the maximum amount. Never noticed/saw it going down. Let me know if u need anything else answered, thanks!

    Thanks for the clarifications.

    Perform a clean boot to see if any third-party program in the background is causing the behavior. Follow the instructions carefully.
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-t...
    If the behavior does not occur after a clean boot. In this same article, there is a technique to help you identify which program is causing this in "How to determine what is causing the problem after you do a clean boot".

    After finding the cause or if it does not help, return to normal boot as instructed in "Reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting".

    When the problem occurs again, before restarting the computer or manually disconnecting and reconnecting, check the following:

    1. Press "Windows + X" and select "Device Manager";
    2. Click on the "View" menu and select "Show hidden devices";
    3. Expand "Network adapters";
    4. If the Wi-Fi adapter is listed, right-click and select "Properties". Check if there is an error in "Device Status".

    If you prefer, send a screenshot. Use the shortcut "Windows + Shift + S" to use the screenshot tool.

    Also. Where did you download the installer that you used to reinstall the driver?

    You can leave only the link to the download page.
