Wifi Network Not Showing Up, Hidden Network in it's place?

My home wifi network does not show up anymore on one of several devices in my home. I can see my neighbors' networks (both 5 and 2.4 connections) and can even see and connect to my phone hotspot, but my wifi is no longer listed, even though it shows up as normal on all other devices. Now there is a "hidden network" shown that I'm pretty sure is suppose to be my wifi since it has a strong signal and my other devices don't have a hidden network on their list of available networks, but although I enter my wifi name and password as requested, it will not accept it and connect to internet. That particular computer is running Windows 10 and is the only device in my home running it.

I have already reset the network settings, updated drivers, double checked my router settings to see that I didn't accidentally set it as hidden, and I even bought a new network adapter and though more wifi networks show up, my home wifi remains a hidden network. Any idea where to go from here?

    Hi,

    I'm having the same problem as Eileen, but these solutions haven't worked for me. I just moved into a new place and I'm sharing Wifi with an upstairs neighbor. My iPhone and macbook can connect to it from the same location, but my windows PC does not detect the network although it can detect all my other neighbors' networks (and a Hidden Network that my other devices don't list). Entering the SSID and password of the network I'm trying to join does not work on the Hidden Network. Are there other ways of solving this?

    Thanks!

    Hey Doug, thank you for your response.

    After troubleshooting the internet connection it says that there are "no preferred wireless networks-Not fixed" and that "a network cable is not properly plugged or may be broken (detected)". I'm not sure about the first problem, but the network adaptor is new and working fine at detecting other networks.

    After troubleshooting the network adapter it gives the same results, except both are labeled "Not fixed" this time.

    On the Command Prompt screen I followed everything through however for the ipconfig /renew and ipconfig /release commands, it states that "No operation can be performed on Ethernet/Wifi while it has its media disconnected"

    I went through with the steps anyways and after I restarted my PC, my home wifi network still isn't showing up on the list of available networks and is remaining a hidden network and after running the troubleshooting prompts again, it still says the same results.

    I also went through everything again while connected to my phone hotspot and the network is still hidden, but this time the troubleshooting wasn't able to find anything wrong with the network adapter/internet connection. I also reinstalled the drivers again.

    Hello. I'm Douglas, here to help you with this.

    I understand that your internet network does not work as it should, initially test the steps below one by one in the order they are in even if you have already performed them and at the end of each one check if the wifi is back to normal

    • Troubleshooting follow the steps mentioned below

    Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshooting > Additional Troubleshooting > Internet Connection > Run the Solution

    Also try the Troubleshooting for Network Adapters on Following the same path:

    Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshooting > Additional Troubleshooting > Network Adapters (Run the solution)

    after that test the following

    1: On the Start screen type CMD to open the list of options in Search;

    2: Right-click on the Command Prompt option;

    3: Click on Run as Administrator option;

    4: On the Command Prompt screen, run the commands described below, pressing Enter at the end of each line:

    ipconfig /release <Enter>

    ipconfig /renew <Enter>

    ipconfig /flushdns <Enter>

    ipconfig /registerdns <Enter>

    nbtstat -rr <Enter>

    netsh int ip reset all <Enter>

    netsh winsock reset <Enter>

    These commands are for resetting the IP configuration and network-related caches that may be stored on your computer.

    Restart your computer and run the tests again.

    I also advise you to go to your computer manufacturer's website in the support section to look for your model and download the latest network and WLAN drivers and install them on your computer again.

    test again if everything is working as it should.

    I hope this information helps you, post the results again, I'm available.

    Thanks.
