Unable to instal my windows update from version 1809 to 22h2

Hi everyone,

Updating my system from version 1809 to 22h2.

Everything goes fine as until it asks me to restart.

When restarting it tells me its configuring updates and might restart a few times.

It reaches up to 75% and after it restarts a few more times until it goes to show the screen : undoing changes made to your system.

Ive tried :

-updating all drivers.

-removing unused drivers.

-unplugging everything except mouse and keyboard.

-using windows assistant & offline installer

  • sfc scan
  • restore health etc

    The issue still persist. It keeps reverting / undoing changes.

    EDIT : Completed steps as you can see below.

    But after these lines :

    C:\Windows\system32>Ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
    C:\Windows\system32>Ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old

    I did not get response, not sure if it worked correctly, ive added a picture so you can check.

    Restarting and updating lets see !

    Please follow the steps below:

    1. Windows Update Troubleshooter

    Windows 10

    Please Click Start menu and choose Settings

    Hit Update and Security then Troubleshoot

    Choose Additional troubleshooters

    And select Windows Update

    Finally, Run the troubleshooter

    1. Reset Windows update components:

    Please click start menu and type cmd, right click on it and choose run with admin

    Kindly type the command lines below and hit enter:

    net stop wuauserv

    net stop cryptSvc

    net stop bits

    net stop msiserver

    Ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old

    Ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old

    net start wuauserv

    net start cryptSvc

    net start bits

    net start msiserver
