Hi,

I'm facing a problem on device manager - Ports (Port & COM) with yellow exclamation mark.

The device status as per follows "This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)

If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system."

I try uninstall and install, disable and enable, restart many times.

Check windows update, using method 2

nothing solved yet.

Hope some fellow here can help.

Thanks

    Hello Mohamad,

My name is Hanem, an independent advisor, and I'm here to help you.

I'm sorry that you are experiencing this issue, and I will try my best to assist you.

This error can occur if two devices that are installed on your computer have been assigned the same I/O ports, the same interrupt, or the same Direct Memory Access channel (either by the BIOS, the operating system, or both). This error message can also appear if the BIOS does not allocate enough resources to the device. To fix this, please follow the steps below.

    Method 1

    1. Press Windows + I.
    2. Click on Update and Security.
    3. Select Troubleshoot > Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter > Run the troubleshooter.

    Method 2

    1. Press Windows + I.
    2. Go to Network and Internet > Status tab > Scroll down and select Network Reset." Click Initiate
    3. Read the warnings and click Reset now.
    4. The computer will restart, and Windows will automatically begin the reset process.

    Method 3

    1. Press Windows + R > type msinfo32 > click OK
    2. Locate the BIOS Version/Date line and check what your system is currently running with.
    3. Visit the manufacturer's website and look for an updated version of your bios. Download and install it onto your device.

    Method 4

    Perform a system restore.

    1. Press Windows + S.
    2. Type in System Restore.
    3. Click on Create a restore point from search results."
    4. Click on "Show more restore points." Select a restored pint in the past and click Next.
    5. Follow the on-screen prompts. I hope the above information helps in fixing the problem.

I hope this helps, feel free to contact me for any further questions.

    Hi Mohamad,

Thank you for your response and for performing all the suggested steps.

To better diagnose the issue, may I know if you have recently installed any new hardware devices on your computer? Also, please unplug external devices attached to your computer and see if the device manager will still show the same alert.

Please feel free to reply to this thread if you have any questions.

    Best regards,
